The sugar highs of yesterday have worn off today! We had a sluggish kind of morning, but still learned a lot of things! We first discussed words with -our. We introduced our spelling words and completed a couple of workbook pages. We finished our first two sentences of DLP and talked about people's names (capitalize and use titles). This week we are going to practice writing our names using Miss or Mr. and then writing the first and last name. The students were excited and felt important using an "official" name. We completed two centers. In Science, we presented the rest of the dinosaur reports and dioramas. The children did a great job. Then, we completed some worksheets to review about dinosaurs for an upcoming test...date to follow. We also read about the Stegosaurus and completed a fun word scramble. In math today, we learned about dollars. We talked about how many of which coin add up to a dollar. Both classes have math homework. In Social Studies, we talked about life for Native Americans in the past and their lives now. Then, we read about how fruit grows, is picked and sent to stores for consumers to buy. We learned three new vocabulary words: ancestor, producer, and consumer. At the end of the day, the students went to gym class.
Conference letters are coming home with your child today. Your day and time are included. See you in a few weeks!
