This morning we wrote about our favorite fruits in our journals. We talked about inferencing, sequencing, and summarizing. These are strategies we use while we read to make us better readers! Then, we read this week's story, Watermelon Day. We also completed a workbook page on proper nouns; we need to remember to capitalize days of the week and months of the year! We went to gym and learning center. Before lunch, we learned the cursive letter l. We completed our centers/guided reading after lunch. Then, in math, we practiced adding two-digit numbers by two-digit numbers. Some students have math homework. In Social Studies, we learned about the federal government. We read about the three branches of government and watched a video about them. We also made vocabulary cards for the words "Congress" and "President".
Parent/Teacher Conference slips went home today. If a conference is requested, please confirm that time. If a conference is not requested, please confirm if you would still like to come, or if you agree with my recommendation. Thanks!
