Monday in Mrs. Bognetti's Class
We started off our morning by practicing reading our Washington, D.C. paragraphs with our groups so that we were ready to present this afternoon. Then, we wrote in our journals about our likes/dislikes of apple pie. I couldn't believe how many students had never had apple pie before! Then, we introduced our phonics pattern for this week (oo and ou). We also learned our spelling words and wrote on notebook paper. After we finished our DLP, writing and grammar, we also learned cursive capital letters C and E. We are working hard to write our names correctly! We went to art as well. After lunch, we learned more about subtracting three digit numbers in math. Some students do have homework. Then, we presented our Washington, D.C. projects. The groups did wonderfully! We are so glad to be done so you can see them at Celebration of Learning Night this Thursday at 6pm. At the end of the day, we read about Native Americans (and tied in what we learned on our field trip). We talked about three different groups of Native Americans and what they eat, wore, lived in and how they traveled. There is an optional Native American Diorama project that will be counted as extra credit for those who choose to do it. Directions are coming home today! The project will be due next Monday. Thanks for all your extra support at home!
