Monday in Mrs. Bognetti's Class
This morning we wrote about what life would be like with a pet whale. It was interesting! Then, we talked about words with -oo and -ue. We completed an activity together and introduced our spelling words for this week. We talked about letters that include an invitation. Then, we used our sentences to write adjectives to describe nouns. We had a PBIS assembly, as well as a Stranger Danger assembly. We want to make sure all children know what to do in case a stranger approached them. After that we went to art class. This afternoon, we learned how to subtract with regrouping (borrowing). Most students do have homework. In Social Studies, we read about different types of bank accounts. If your child has never been inside a bank, that might be a fun little field trip for you to take! We talked about how children can have their own savings accounts! Also, you may want to show your child what your checkbook looks like. We looked at a sample check and talked about how they work. We also learned about what happens when you don't pay off your credit card every month....life lessons! We learned about pie charts as well. At the end of the day, we learned the cursive letter "l".
