Monday in Mrs. Bognetti's Class

Thank you to those of you who helped your child make a Native American diorama!  The ones that were turned in look great!  We were able to share the dioramas with the class at the end of the day.

This morning we learned about words with ou and ough, sounding like oo.  We completed an activity together and then introduced our spelling words with the same pattern.  We completed our DLP, talked about how to write "how-to" paragraphs, and discussed subject/verb agreement.  We also learned the capital cursive letters K and U.  Then, we went to art class.  We read more of Holes.  In math, we learned about fractions that equal one whole.  If you can, have your child help use fractions in the kitchen this week.  Have them use a whole cup, or half cup and use fraction vocabulary.  Some students do have math homework.  In Social Studies, we re-read our lesson on the first colonies, watched a video clip about Jamestown and Plymouth and then completed an activity in class.

Tomorrow we will take our Science test.  Coming home today are several papers on light and sound that can be used to study for the test.  Science books were sent home as well.  Thanks for all your help at home!
