Today we wrote in our journals. The topic was, "If I was the President for a day, I would..." After journals we took the first half of our theme test for Language Arts. This is a theme week so there is no spelling our vocabulary this week. Then, the students selected a President to research during computer class. They found out information about the President that they chose and will later use this to write an informational paragraph. After lunch, Mrs. Barrett read Harry Potter to the class. In math we began measurement. Today's lesson was about nonstandard units of measurement and the students estimated the length of things and then measured them using objects like paper clips. Neither class has math homework. In Social Studies, we discussed voting. The students did a small in-class election to elect a boy line leader and girl line leader for the remainder of the week. They really enjoyed the voting process.
Please remember: There is no school tomorrow because of the weather. Please stay warm and safe and we will plan to see you on Thursday.
