Wednesday in Mrs. Bognetti's Class
This morning we wrote sentences using words with -at and -ate. Then, we read two poems and highlighted all the words with the same pattern. Most of us finished our spelling page in class. We reviewed our vocabulary words and re-read our story in small groups. Then, the children completed a scavenger hunt, looking in the story for answers to the clues. We completed our DLP and a worksheet covering predicates of sentences. We also went to music and gym class. This afternoon we read Harry Potter and had some time to silent read. We wrote number sentences to solve problems in math. We finished our math work in class. We also completed a timed test. We will have a math test tomorrow. If your student has completed all of his/her homework, he/she should be sufficiently prepared for it. In Social Studies, we started working on an Illinois Booklet. We looked at a map of Illinois and talked about special places and the crops that are grown. In Science, we started learning about fossils. We watched a video clip to see how fossils are found. Then, we completed the lesson outline in class. Please sign and return your child's science test tomorrow.
