We started our morning by practicing words with -ed endings. The students have one page of spelling homework tonight. We made a Venn Diagram together to compare Henry to Mudge. We completed our DLP. For grammar, we talked about commands versus exclamations. The students have a workbook page to finish for homework. Then, we started writing paragraphs about things we like to do in the fall. We will hopefully finish them tomorrow. We completed three centers and read with our fourth grade book buddies today. In the afternoon, we read some more of Harry Potter. Then, in math we reviewed fact families. We did a challenge worksheet together that also made us think of addition problems with three addends. We took our timed test and a short quiz on algebraic addition and subtraction problems. In Science, we read about earthquakes, volcanoes, and landslides. We watched a video clip showing each of the three ways earth can change quickly. We worked with a partner on our lesson outline, but the children do need to finish it for homework.
Don't forget we have our weekly Reading and Spelling tests tomorrow! Also, don't forget to turn in your Mystery Reader preferences. Thanks to everyone who attended Curriculum Night last night!
