Wednesday in Mrs. Walter's Room
Today we wrote in our journals about making new friends. We shared our journals with a partner. Then we wroked on our spelling words. We cut apart the letters of our spelling words and made them. We took turns writing them on the board. After that we re-read our story Fro and Toad and talked about the vocabulary words. Then we made a chart with our spelling words and talked about present and past tense. The studnets went to gym class then. After gym we did our DLP, and Daily Geography. After lunch we had some silent reading time. Then we worked on writing a letter. We will be making our final copy tomorrow. Look for a letter coming in the mail sometime. THe children picked someone in their home to write the letter to. Writing the letter took a little longer than expected, but they did a great job. Many students did not know their addresses. This is something you could work on with your child at home. Then we worked on math for a bit. We did some pages in our workbooks on adding and subtracting doubles. After math we had some time to work on social studies. We are starting a unit on Illinois. We will be doing a booklet on Illinois. This will be a lot of fun to do. Practice those spelling words for Friday. Don't forget our reading and science test too.
