Monday in Mrs. Bognetti's Class

This morning we talked about words with -at and -ate. We completed a phonics activity and a workbook page together. Then, we introduced the spelling words for this week. "Appreciate" is our hardest word by far! We completed our DLP and went to art class, too. This afternoon, we practiced silent reading. Then, we used ten frames again to help us add and subtract 7's and 8's in math class. The students have one page of math homework. I told them they could draw a ten frame at home and use cereal, M&M's, paper clips, whatever, to use as manipulatives. In Social Studies, we read about states and capitals. We will be starting an Illinois booklet on Wednesday which will carry over into the computer lab as well. We practiced geography skills today. Then, at the end of the day, we quickly reviewed the vocabulary words for the science test tomorrow. Everyone should have brought their books home to study from tonight! Thanks for helping!
