Monday in Mrs. Bognetti's Class

Thanks to all the parents who came for "What's Happening At Wesley Day" today! We hope you got a snapshot of what we really do here at Wesley School each day. We did not do anything fancy or abnormal, just showed you what we do on a daily basis.

We started our day by working on our Washington, D.C. posters. Each group is starting to draw a picture of their monument/building. Most groups did a nice job working together. Then, we learned our new phonics pattern (ew, ui sounding like 00). We completed an activity together. Then, we introduced our spelling words. The children went to art class. After lunch, we silent read. Then, we learned how to make 2D shapes out of pattern blocks. Most of us finished our work in class. Then, we took a timed test. We finished literacy in the afternoon. We had two sentences of DLP to correct, we talked about poetry, and we discussed past-tense verbs. In Social Studies, we talked about the Preamble to our Constitution and symbols of the United States. We read some pages about Presidential treasures in the Smithsonian and completed a worksheet together.

Don't forget that tomorrow is our big field trip!
