Wednesday in Mrs. Bognetti's Class

This morning was very exciting. We started the day by introducing the second graders to their Washington, D.C. project! We have broken the students into 15 different groups. Each group will draw a poster of their monument/building they have chosen to research, as well as produce a paragraph about their place as well. We will be completing this project in class. However, we did ask students to search online at home for a picture of their place before Friday, if possible. We also wrote letters to each place in Washington, D.C. to request information and pictures to help us learn about each. After gym and music, we practiced using contractions. We also re-read our story Good-bye, Curtis. We did complete a scavenger hunt with a partner, but I noticed that several students did not write plural nouns. Therefore, I am assigning this as homework so that you can check over your child's work and make sure they have the right answers. After lunch we read Harry Potter. In math, we learned about 3D shapes. We talked about how many faces, vertices and edges each shape has. Most students do have math homework.

Don't forget that spelling packets are due tomorrow. Enjoy this beautiful weather!
