Monday in Mrs. Bognetti's Class

Monday, Monday!  We started this morning by writing what we would do if we lived in a palace.  The dreams were quite fascinating!  Then, we learned about words with aw and augh.  We introduced our spelling words and practiced writing them in our workbooks.  We completed our DLP, learned about writing directions, and talked about helping verbs.  Most of us finished our "how-to" paragraphs from last week.  We also learned the cursive letter "X".  We had art class, too.  After lunch, we read Holes again.  We only have 6 chapters left.  We learned how to compare fractions in math class.  Some students do have math homework.  In Social Studies, we learned all about Paul Revere and read Longfellow's famous poem Paul Revere's Ride.  The chldren really enjoyed it.  After, we read about westward expansion and talked about Lewis and Clark.  We discussed the life of pioneers and how difficult and risky it was.  Some students need to finish a S.S. worksheet for homework, but most turned it in before the end of the day.
