Wednesday in Mrs. Bognetti's Class

This morning we wrote in our journals about why it is fun to learn about new places.  After we shared, we practiced writing sentences using our spelling words.  We reviewed our Word Wall words, too.  Then, we got into groups and worked on a comprehension packet of questions using our reading books.  Our story this week is an atlas, so there will be several Social Studies grades given this week!  After gym and music, we finished taking our Theme Test.  We also were able to fit in centers for a short time.  This afternoon, we read Holes.  Then, we did some problem solving in math using a working backward strategy.  We will have a math test on triple digit subtraction tomorrow so a review workbook page was sent home for homework.  We took another timed test.  In Social Studies, we re-read our lesson on Native Americans and made a chart for display in our room to remind us of the different materials that were used by each group.  In Science, we re-read our lesson about Sound and completed an activity in class.  Ms. Wilken also helped teach Science in Music class this morning, showing examples of pitch, vibrations, and sound.  We will have a Science Test on Heat, Light and Sound next Tuesday.
