I Day-May 6th

We read I-Spy books today!  It was fun searching with a partner for specific objects in our books!  During journal time, we worked on our ABC books and wrote about our weekends.  Then, we learned our phonics pattern of the week--prefixes over and un.  We introduced the spelling words and practiced them.  Then, we completed the DLP and talked about contractions.  In Social Studies, we analyzed timelines.  Then, we read about some famous Americans like Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman and Jackie Robinson.  It was quite fun!  We also watched a brainpop and short video clip about these people's lives.  This afternoon we took our Math MAP tests.  Then, we learned about 3D shapes.  We do have one page of math homework.

Tomorrow, your child may bring a jigsaw puzzle to school for "J Day".  We will also be taking a Social Studies test on Thursday on Unit 5.  Spelling packets are due on Thursday, as usual.
