M Day-May 10th

Today was Mystery Day!  First, we each wrote a mystery and shared some with the class.  We had to include characters, a setting, problem and solution.  Then, we had a mystery box.  Every half our the children received another clue as to what was in the box.  They wrote down their guesses based on the clues throughout the day.  At the end of the day it was a ????????????????????????????  Ask your child!

We reviewed words with ew and ui sounding like oo.  We completed our DLP and a contractions activity.  Then, we had centers/guided reading.  Some groups got to read books about Amelia Earhart.  They loved them!  We also took our Reading and Spelling test.  This afternoon, we went to gym and music.  Then, we presented our Native American dioramas.  They looked fabulous, as you saw last night.  We set up our Poetry Binders and turned in our book bags.

Coming home to you this weekend is the last sheet of spelling/vocabulary words.  There will be no story the following week because we will be theme testing.

Thanks to all who attending Celebration of Learning Night!  It really was a pleasure to show you all of the things we have been working on in class!  The children were so proud to show off their learning!
