Monday--Miss Calderone's class

Our day started with music followed by P.E. When we came back we corrected our DLP and wrote in our February journals about what we did over the weekend. After sharing we read a story and then learned the new chunks for this week: -oi and -oy. We brainstormed some words that contain the chunks and then took our spelling pretest. After correcting we completed two centers. After lunch we had our first mystery reader come in! This week is special and we will have a mystery reader every day! We moved onto math next. We reviewed measuring in inches and then learned about centimeters and meters. We did some measuring in centimeters and then worked on some workbook pages. We had about 5 minutes so the students listened quickly on how to plot points and started working on a 100 day paper. It was sent home to do for fun, not homework. After math we had science. We finished reading chapter 10 today (I thought we wouldn't until tomorrow but the students listened very well). We will review for the rest of the week and then have our chapter test on Thursday. Please see the note I sent home. Our day finished with the 100 day parade and some 100 day worksheets. Everything was sent home for fun, not homework.

The homework for tonight is to read How I Spent My Summer Vacation, study for the science test, and the students in my math class have math 17-4 to finish.
