Tuesday in Mrs. Bognetti's Room

We started off today by writing in our journals. The topic was, "Choose your own topic." Then we reviewed changing singular words that end in a, "f" to plural by changing the "f" to a "v" and adding -es. (Example: leaf and leaves). In Spelling, we practiced our new words by doing our making words activity. We also learned that an anytonym is a word that has the opposite meaning of another word. Students were very good at identifying antonyms and gave examples such as, bad/good and hot/cold. Nice work! We also read our new story today, "Cool Ali." Our specials today were gym and computer lab. After our specials, we learned the cursive letter, "j." After lunch, we did our centers and Mrs. Barrett read Harry Potter to the class. We are in the last chapter- coming very close to being finished! In math we learned about patterns using shapes. Students in Mrs. Barrett's math class have math homework. Students in Mrs. Walter's math class have math homework too. We finished the day with Social Studies and the students continued working on their Washington, D.C. monument pictures.
