Wednesday in Mrs. Bognetti's Class

This morning after we wrote in and shared our journals, we took another section of our theme test. Then, we talked about our vocabulary words and re-read our story How I Spent My Summer Vacation in groups. We made webs about cowboys and shared what they do, wear, etc. We had centers/guided reading. We also went to gym and music. This afternoon, we silent read and then went to math. We learned how to subtract using a hundreds chart. Most students do have homework. In Social Studies, we focused on how to use a compass rose to read a map. Then, we watched a brainpop clip on reading maps. In Science, we learned about the arctic region at the North Pole. We took notes and did an explore activity. Ask your child to tell you about camoflauge and how animals' coats change during different seasons of the Arctic. We started a lesson outline in class, but it needs to be finished for homework. Don't forget that the spelling packet is due tomorrow.

If your child is reading to earn a ticket to the Cougars game, the first base ticket was due today. Please send it to school ASAP so I can forward it on to the PTA. Thanks!
