Friday--Miss Calderone's class

What a fast day! Today started by correcting our D.L.P. We then jumped straight into centers. After completing the last 3 centers we took our spelling test. Today we started on regular lined paper. We learned about where to put the heading and what to put in the heading. We're getting ready for third grade! After the spelling test we wrote back to our pen-pals. Many students finished with enough time to draw a picture for their new friend. We finished the morning reviewing for the reading test by playing pictionary/charades and then taking the test. After lunch we read Harry Potter and then switched for math. We reviewed fractions and then practiced making fractions by making fraction pizzas! We got together with a partner to complete the sheet. Many didn't finish so the rest is homework. During math we also had a lock down drill. The students did an excellent job of staying down and being very quiet. After math we went to music and finished the day with celebration day. We went outside for a bit and enjoyed the nice weather.

The homework for the weekend is to read 20 minutes or more per day, complete the math page assigned to your class, and bring in your picture forms and yearbook order forms (if you choose to order). Have a great weekend!
