Monday--Miss Calderone's Class

Today the day started right away with music and P.E. When we came back we corrected our D.L.P. and wrote in our April journal. After sharing our journals we reviewed the suffixes for this week's spelling list: -er and -est. This is a review for us so many students did very well on the spelling pretest. After correcting the spelling words we learned a new cursive letter; the uppercase A. It was super easy! We then reviewed the verbs am, is, are, was, and were and learned three new verbs: has, have, and had. We discussed whether the verbs were past or present and then partnered up to complete a grammar sheet. We corrected it together and finished the morning with one center. After lunch we read Harry Potter for a bit and then switched for math. We continued reviewing fractions today. The students are really doing very well. After math got into our Washington D.C. groups. We worked in the computer lab and in the classroom to finish our posters and write our informational paragraphs.

The homework for tonight is to sign the grade reports and the reading test, complete math 24-5 (my math class only), and read Chinatown. Also, continue bringing in picture forms/packets and yearbook money if you want to order!
