Monday--Miss Calderone's room

Today our day started out with Music and P.E. When we came back we corrected our D.L.P. and shared what we wrote in our April journals. We then learned the two chunks for this week: -air and -are (both make the "air" sound). We partnered up with other students and made a list of words with the chunks on white boards. We regrouped and shared what we came up with. We then took our spelling pretest and finished the morning with one center. After lunch we got back our reading and math tests and wrote in our assignment sheets. We then switched for math. Today we started our probability unit. We learned the words certain, probable, and impossible. I put colored cubes in a bag and the students answered probability questions about different colored cubes. We then completed some workbook pages independently and corrected them together. The students worked so fast that we had time in class to do our homework AND correct it together! We ended the day with our Washington D.C. groups. We are almost finished!

The homework for tonight is to sign the reading and math tests and also complete math 26-1 (remember some finished in class).
