Thursday--Miss Calderone's class

Today our day started with correcting our D.L.P. and writing in our April journal. After sharing we got together with partners to complete a vocabulary sheet and then did a spelling word sort (we put words with -gh and -ph into correct columns). After correcting that we made petroglyphs! We drew symbols to represent sentences on brown construction paper and then crumpled up the paper to make the "ancient" effect. After that we reviewed verbs and sentences in the past and present. We finished literacy completing 3 sentences. Our morning ended with social studies. We watched a movie about our country and had some very yummy birthday treats! After lunch we read Harry Potter for a bit and then switched for math. We reviewed fractions and learned about whole fractions. We worked independently in our book, went over the answers, and then broke into partners to complete fractions that represent groups. The students did an excellent job! We then had science. We read a Time For Kids about tornadoes and had a wonderful discussion. Our day ended with P.E.

The homework for tonight is to complete the spelling packet/study, read Anthony Reynoso/study, math 25-2, and bring in your pictures/picture order forms.
