March 14th

We wrote in our journals about whether or not we'd like a surprise party thrown in our honor.  Parents, start surprising your children because ALL of them liked the idea!  =)  Then, we practiced writing contractions and comparing/contrasting story elements.  We reread Good-bye, Curtis and completed our DLP.  We also completed a Scavenger Hunt.  Then, we had centers/guided reading and read with our Book Buddies.  This afternoon we continued reading Poppy Pendle.  In Science, we finished our rain forest pop-up displays, watched a video clip on rain forest animals and completed two activities in class.  Those who did not finished need to completed them for homework.  At the end of the day, we worked on our Washington, D.C. projects.  More and more groups are starting their research and typing their paragraphs!  We hope to have them completed before Spring Break.  There will be a Reading test tomorrow and a Science test next week on Land Habitats.
