We had another busy day!  We wrote about letter carriers this morning because our story of the week is about a letter carrier's retirement.  Then, we learned all about contractions and how to make them.  We introduced the spelling words which proved to be pretty challenging.  The spelling packet did not make it home with students today so it will come home tomorrow with only two pages.  Then, we worked on a word sort and completed our DLP.  We talked about poetry, rhyming words and how authors use repeating words to make rhythm in poems, too.  Then, we learned more cursive letters.  This afternoon we silent read.  Then, we learned how to tell time to the hour in math.  Most students have homework.  We went to the computer lab and set up our Book Bags at the end of the day.
