Monday--Miss Calderone's class

Today our day began with music and P.E. When we came back we corrected our D.L.P. and wrote in our May journals about what we did over the weekend. After sharing we learned the new "chunks" for this week: -ou and -ough (both make the "oo" sound). We made a list of words on the board containing those chunks and then read a poem and identified more words with the chunks. We took our spelling pretest and after correcting together we learned the cursive letter "K". We practiced for a bit and then learned about the new centers. We were able to complete one center this morning. After lunch we went into the computer lab and took our last M.A.P.s test for the year! The students did SO WELL; I am so proud to be their teacher. We took a break after all that work and had indoor free time for about 15 minutes. When we came back to our desks we started learning about the very beginning steps for multiplication! We learned how to make equal groups by taking counters and making a certain amount of groups. We did some workbook pages together and then got ready to go home.

The homework for tonight is to complete math 28-1 and study for the science test tomorrow!
