Tuesday--Miss Calderone's class

Today we began our day correcting our D.L.P. and writing in our May journal. We used the word wall words to write sentences and then projected the sentences on the screen. After sharing we learned the vocabulary for the story and then read Montigue on the High Seas. We really liked the story. We then reviewed helping verbs and completed a grammar sheet with a partner. Some partnerships did not finish in class so it is homework. We moved on to centers. We completed 3 centers and in between the second and third center we learned the cursive letter P. We finished the morning with Social Studies. We learned about the first 13 colonies and that the colonists fought to be free from a king. After lunch we switched for math and continued learning about multiplication. We learned that you can switch the numbers in a multiplication sentence and come up with the same answer. We practiced solving some multiplication problems. After math we went to art and finished the day with science. We read some more about dinosaurs and fossils and cut out mixed up sentences and put them in the correct order on how a fossil forms.

The homework for today is to read Montigue, complete the math sheet (only my math class), finish grammar 164 (if you didn't in class) and remember to bring a sack lunch for the field trip tomorrow! Please see the purple sheet that was sent home regarding information for tomorrow.
