Monday in Mrs. Bognetti's Room

This morning we learned about the inflection -ed. There are three different sounds for words with -ed endings (t, d, and ed). We practicing listening to each of those sounds. We completed a workbook page together. Then, we introduced our spelling words, again with -ed endings. A list of the spelling and vocabulary words will be coming home today. Please start practicing with your child! We completed a spelling workbook page in class. We did two sentences of DLP, talked about paragraphs and how we indent at the beginning of each paragraph. Then, we learned the difference between commands and exclamations. Practice giving your child some commands at home for fun! We were also able to get through two rotations of centers today. In Science, we re-read our lesson on erosion. We completed a worksheet to review our vocabulary words in class. This afternoon, we learned about inverse operations and fact families. We took a timed test and worked on a bit of our homework. The students do need to finish it tonight for homework, however. Then, in Social Studies, we re-read our lesson on rural, urban and suburban areas. Each student drew a picture of one type of community. We will put them together to make a bulletin board. The students have one page of Social Studies homework. At the end of the day, we went to gym class.

Don't forget about Curriculum Night on Wednesday!
