Monday in Mrs. Walter's room

Today we dove into our spelling words right away. This weeks spelling words are a little more challenging than last weeks. We talked about how adding -ed to the end of the word can sound like a t at the end of the word. We cut up letters, and spelled our spelling words with our letters. We did a few worksheets from our workbook. We practiced our phonics next. We read a story and discussed paragraphs. We will be working on writing a paragraph this week. We read a few examples of well written paragraphs, and not so well written paragraphs. Then we talked about how a paragraph needs a topic sentence. Then the students went to music class. When they came back we worked a bit on Daily Geography. We then took a practice spelling test. In the afternoon we read from our Harry Potter book then we did some more work on paragraphs then worked on our math. At the end of the day we talked about living in a community from our social studies book.
