Monday in Mrs. Bognetti's Room

This morning we discussed words with -at and -ate. We read a poem and completed a workbook page. Then, we introduced the spelling words. By far, the hardest word is "appreciate". Please study that one with your child! I "appreciate" it! We completed our DLP and we talked about predicates of sentences. We completed one center today. In Science, we began our new unit on fossils. The students were very interested in insects trapped in amber. We started a worksheet in class with partners that needs to be finished for homework. You may want to check and see if the answers your child wrote down with his/her partner are correct! Then, we watched a video clip on fossil formation. In math, we worked on story problems. We completed our homework in class. We also took our timed test...surprisingly on a Monday, we had lots of students pass! In Social Studies, we finished our Illinois Booklets. Then, we worked on our Daily Oral Geography. At the end of the day, we went to gym class.
