Wednesday in Mrs. Bognetti's Room

This morning we reviewed words with -ame and -ake. We worked on a spelling page that I collected in class. We re-read the story Get Up and Go! We completed our DLP and grammar for today as well. The children enjoyed Music class. In Social Studies, we talked about the word "history" and looked at New York City in the past and now. We compared how different each looked. We also read about urban, suburban, and rural areas. We watched a video clip to show the differences between each. This afternoon we completed two centers. We worked on solving problems by drawing pictures in math. We made a class book of story problems and the students have one page to finish for homework. Then, we did an explore activity in science to show erosion. We read pages in our books and then watched another video clip showing the formation of the Grand Canyon and erosion by water and ice.

Some parents have started asking questions about the grading on papers. Mr. Langman will give a presentation on standards-based reporting on Curriculum Night. Please plan to attend this important night!
