Happy St. Patrick's Day from Mrs. Bognetti's Class

We worked on some St. Patrick's Day activities this morning in class. Then, we wrote some sentences with prefixes. The students completed their spelling worksheets in class. Then, we reviewed the vocabulary words. We re-read The Pine Park Mystery and talked about how the illustrator of Pine Park is the same as the Harry Potter series! After we read the story, we went over the narrative elements and found the characters, setting, problem and solution of the story. We completed the DLP from yesterday and today. Then, we completed a worksheet on verbs in class. We had time for two centers today. In Science, we started learning about the human body. We traced one child in each group. Then, we will draw and add organs to each as we learn about them. We watched a short video clip on BrainPop, too. Then, we read a mini-book about parts of the body. This afternoon, we learned how to write numbers in expanded form. My class went outside to write equations in chalk on the blacktop. We did complete our homework in class. Some students got to do an extra St. Patrick's Day measurement activity as well. In Social Studies, we learned more about the Federal Government. We took some notes and watched a short video about the three branches of government. Expect a test at the end of next week.
