Monday--Miss Calderone's class

What a fast day! We started right away with Music and P.E. When we came back we wrote in our March journals about our weekend and then corrected our D.L.P. While writing in our journal, we were able to pick two books from a cart full of books that the library doesn't need. We then learned about the job of a prefix. The chunks for this week will be two prefixes; re- and pre-. We came up with a list of words with the two prefixes and then took our spelling pretest. After the pretest we corrected the words and then learned about the new centers. Our morning ended completing two centers. After lunch we read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for a bit and then switched classes for math. In math we began learning about tens and one hundreds. We completed the math book pages together and worked with a partner on the homework. We regrouped and went over the answers. Because there is no homework I asked the students to come home and show their family members what we did in math today. After math we had science. We reviewed certain organs by completing a crossword puzzle with a partner. We went over the answers and then headed to media center. That was the end of our day.

The homework for tonight is to complete math 21-1 (for those with Mrs. Bognetti) and read The Pine Park Mystery.
