Wednesday in Mrs. Bognetti's Class

This morning, in our journals, we drew different 2-D and 3-D shapes, named them and wrote descriptions of them. We read a few and guessed which shape each student described. Then, we had a special presenter, Mrs. Zimmermann, come today to reinforce what the students have learned about taking care of their teeth. The students also watched a short video, as well. After that, we started making a list of different places in Washington, D.C. that would be interesting to learn about. We divided up the places and started writing letters to send to each place requesting information for an upcoming Social Studies project. Later, we watched some more of Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. This afternoon, we learned about how to find the perimeter of shapes. We taught the students how to measure the outside edges with a ruler and then add up the numbers. They do have one page of homework. In Social Studies, we re-read our lesson about the state government. The students have one page of S.S. homework. At the end of the day, they went to the library.
