Monday in Mrs. Bognetti's Room

This morning we had gym and music. After, we stayed to watch the 5th grade muscial that will be presented tonight. They did a great job! We introduced how to make contractions with "not", "will" and "is". We talked about that special word "won't" that is made out of will and not. The students have one page of spelling homework. Then, we completed our DLP and talked about subject/verb agreement. We finished one rotation of centers today. The students are supposed to read Good-bye, Curtis at home tonight and complete a scavenger hunt to go with it. This afternoon, Mrs. Rybowicz (5th grade teacher) came to read to our class for Community Readers Week. Dr. Black-Gomez (Director of Bilingual Services) came to read to us, as well. In math, we learned how to add hundreds. Tomorrow we will start regrouping. After computer lab, we learned about elections in Social Studies. We completed a worksheet in class after our discussion. Then, we read about some Presidential treasures held in the Smithsonian Institution. All students were to bring their books home in order to complete their S.S. homework. We will have a Social Studies Test on Thursday covering all of Unit 4.
